Assistant Researcher, Chemistry Department, University of Aveiro, Portugal.
Carla Patrícia Silva (CPS) obtained her degrees at University of Aveiro (UA): PhD in Chemistry (2014), MSc inInstrumental Methods and Analytical Quality Control (2006) and graduation in Chemistry - IndustrialChemistry and Management (2004). Currently, CPS is Assistant Researcher of the Project CENTRO-01-0145-FEDER-029021. Earlier in her career, CPS worked under a FCT project (POCI/AMB/55939/2004) research granton the development of electrochemical techniques for the quantification of heavy metals for application inreal aquatic matrices in the Aveiro Institute of Materials (CICECO)/Department of Chemistry (DC)/UA, incollaboration with the University of Algarve. In 2009, CPS started her research work as post-graduatedmember at Center for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM)/DC/UA. In 2011, under the support of a FCTPhD grant (SFRH/BD/74430/2010), CPS started developing her PhD research work focused on the occurrenceand fate of estrogens and antibiotics in the aquatic environment. During her PhD, CPS was given theopportunity to benefit from a 2-months stay as guest scientist at BAM-Federal Institute for Materials Researchand Testing, in Berlin (Germany). After the conclusion of her PhD (Dec. 2014), and under the support ofresearch grants (Project under the Prize Medalha de Honra para as Mulheres na Ciência 2014 (awarded toVânia Calisto) and Project PTDC/AAG-TEC/1762/2014), CPS have continued developing research atCESAM/DC/UA. Overall, CPS has published 28 peer-reviewed papers in highly ranked ISI-journals, with 658citations (23.5 cit./paper) and an H-index of 15 (Scopus, 24 Feb. 2021).
